Personal Narrative: Velma

Improved Essays
As a child, I loved to watch Scooby doo on Saturday mornings. They were always going on adventures and solving mysterious together. Almost every little girl wanted to be Daphne because she was the “pretty and popular” one, but as I have gotten older I realized what an awesome character Velma was, and she would make the perfect college roommate for me. She was the one “the mystery gang” always turned to when they had questions. School and studying are very important to me, just like they were to Velma. She was a very smart and intellectual character who always had all the facts, and as a college roommate she would be able to help me stay focused on studying and school. Also, Velma was always up for helping the mystery gang go on an adventure

The sun’s burning rays beat down on us as we dug through the layers of Egyptian sand and rock. We had only begun the excavation the previous day and had already uncovered one-fifth of the ancient pyramid. I, as well as a team of high-ranking archaeologists, had accompanied Sarah Parcak in an expedition to unearth a lost Egyptian pyramid. “How’s your section of the chamber coming along, Erica? We’ve just uncovered a new sarcophagus,” remarked Sarah as she passed by, carrying a large coffin.…

When asked to name someone who I think is an exemplary communicator, the person that comes to my mind is a role model of mine, Micaella. At the beginning of my junior year of high school I chose to take a class called Professional Career Internship, or Cadet Teaching. This class provided students with the opportunity to experience elementary school classrooms and the responsibilities involved in teaching by placing them in a classroom to act as an aide to their assigned supervising teacher. Micaella was my assigned supervising teacher and allowed me to take on a large role within her classroom and quickly became someone I looked up to…

I do not if you remember me but I’m Stephanie Espinal. I went to your office before the exam number 3 and talked about how can I do better in the mini-exams. I do not want to say that I give up on doing well in the mini-exams, but not matter what I do I still get a bad grade. This frustrates me a lot. As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality.
