Personal Narrative: Uniforms Of Blue And Maze

Decent Essays
Freshly cut grass
Fresh white powder lines
The smell of popcorn and hotdogs
The oil on the bats smell like pines. The uniforms of Blue and Maze
With hats and shoes the same.
The early morning sun is leaving a haze.
Too bad the other team is going to get beat what a shame. Balls, strikes, hits and run,
The pitcher is pitching like he is having fun.
Outfielders chasing to catch the long ball,
It went over the fence and we won it all.

Quarter past the hour, the bus was swamped as a freeway at traffic hour. Orca blue had camouflaged the city; fortunately, accents of flaming red had made their presence felt. Furthermore, it was evident that it was playoff season. As game time neared, my cousin and I made our way to our Hotel. Just hours before puck drop, the rabid Canucks fans, delivered some rather crude looks as we strolled down Robson Street in our Gaudreau shirts.…

Rhythmic staccatos of hammer drills coupled with harmonic musical accompaniment compose the symphony of the theatrical arena. Gridlocked center stage, contemplating the complexity of antibiotic resistance in petri-developed bacterial strains, my deviated attention soon becomes enveloped by the compulsory sound of the production manager calling a cast meeting. I clench my hands around a story of genuine sentiment for tradition; having spent months exploring the effect one transformative agent can bear on an entire population of nuanced individuals. I begin to reference the fundamentals of biology to incite a parallel between random mutations of bacteria and random events associated with the art of theatrical production. In the studio, I delve…

Memories of family members sleeping over and birthday parties fill my mind. Carpet a light brown color, wallpaper that was at first white, but faded with age. The large TV takes up most of the room, along with the couch and leather chair.…

A part of me always knew that I’d have to tell the story of the big quake- and I always hoped that I would never come to that. When it happened, my mind froze. I was sitting on my couch, reading ‘The Kite Runner’. I was trying to prepare myself psychologically to get up and knock some things off the to-do list; picking up my sister from work and before my mother got home to a house that would be hopefully clean.…

I and my friends, Dexter and Peter, were playing around an ancient, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the city. There was a sign on the perimeter fence “Enter, at your own risk!”. However, curiosity arose us and we picked the rusty lock, granting us entry into the sacred place of the unknown. I unlocked the door, to my horror, scarce bones, were precariously hanging, from the ceiling above. There was a sudden rush of blood from my head to my toes as the door behind us swung shut.…
