I started to feel bad right after school was out on Thursday. I had a fever and my body felt like it was weighted down with bricks. My mom took me to the doctor on Friday and I tested positive with the flu. The medicine that the doctor had put me on was called Tamiflu and it was supposed to help make the flu not last so long. The plan was to get up really early on Wednesday morning so we could get an early start on the long drive. I was still feeling pretty sick when I went to bed Tuesday night and hoped that it would all go away because I did not want to throw up in the car. I tried so hard to convince my stomach that it was ok, but at 2am my stomach had another plan. I jumped out of bed and had to make a dash for the bathroom. I lept over my packed bag of clothes only to barely make it to the bathroom door before I lost it. It made a big mess in the bathroom and even got on my favorite shoes. I felt bad for my parents who had to clean up that huge mess in the middle of the night before leaving for a long trip. Luckily, I felt better the next day and the drive was ok. By the end of the trip, we all laughed at what had happened.
My favorite part of Spring Break was seeing my grandparents, driving their John Deere Gator, skiing in Colorado and eating pizza from a fun place right on the slopes. They had enormous pieces of pizza that had to be folded in half to even fit in my mouth. The slopes were topped with powdery snow that glistened when the sun hit it. I wanted to try snowboarding but chickened out and decided to stick to skiing. I feel pretty lucky to have gotten to have two spring breaks in one
