I’ve been playing soccer ever since I was 5, and have always loved the sport since the first touch of the ball. But for the first few years of my soccer “career”, I had always been playing for fun. When I was playing for fun, I was always the best player on my team, but I really wanted a challenge. So when I got to the age of 8, I decided that I was ready for the next level, competitive soccer.
“Hurry up, Jason! You’re going to be late for your tryouts!” my mom hollered from downstairs. I covered my ears with my pillow and I heard the constant muffled yelling from my mom. “You…… get….. quickly…. or else….” and then I heard someone stomping up the stairs towards my room. “It’s going to be a long day,” I told myself as I confronted the monster coming into my room.

“Get in behind the defense with the diagonal through balls we have been practicing, and we will surely be able to score. And remember guys, just go out there and play your game, because this is a team you should have no problem beating. Let’s go 1,2,3 TSC!” just like that, the game had started.
Coach put me in my preferred right-midfield position , but it felt a bit weird at first, because the game felt like it was played so much faster than on my old team. Finally, we got the ball and progressed it up the midfield. Matthew, the midfielder, passed me the ball. I panicked a bit and took a bad touch, losing the ball.
