The lake was a cool blue color and it was clear as glass and I could see the fish swimming about ten feet under the surface. There was a slight breeze on my back when I was on my way across the lake. I had made it to the miniature island that was about half way around the edge of the lake, when I decided to turn around and make my way back to my camp. I now had a chilly breeze blowing in my face which was strong enough to keep the pesky bugs away from me. I hadn’t made much progress on my way back when out of the blue the faint breeze turned into a strong gust that brought large waves with it. The strong wind and waves spun my paddleboard around and I flew off. I was paddling in shallower water than I thought and it was quite rocky. When I fell off of …show more content…

Kneeling, I tore strips of cloth from my pants and wound them around my bare feet. I made each movement slowly and deliberately, trying to regain my composure. As I sprinted into the distance, I heard a noise and I looked behind me.…

Limb deficiencies resulting from traumatic amputation are a specialized form of trauma. They often do not occur in children, and as such, can be difficult to handle. This trauma is also specifically labor intensive because it affects the child as whole: physically, emotionally, and psychologically. These consequences are persistent, occurring as soon as the trauma does, and continuing long after into the lives of the child and parents. These also mean that the child will require care in different aspects of life, such as occupational therapy, prosthetics, and psychological therapy.…

“Life is like an ocean. It can be calm or still, rough or rigid, but in the end, it is always beautiful” l- anonymous I experienced one of these days in Montana at the lake with my friend, Cole Moberly.
