Personal Narrative: Trash Talking

Decent Essays
First of all this all happen after I had to leave Hephzibah. I went to two other schools after Hephzibah, and the first one was Sego. When I tell you that was a problem I could not wait to move. Then after Sego I went to Morgan Road. When I walked into Sego they laughed at me. Then when I walked in the room before they laughed at me I had confident that they would like me. Looks like I was wrong. Furthermore I was always picked on everyday all day. I could take it because if you want to be in the NBA you have to ignore trash talk. Trash Talking is a part of life in my point of view. I say this because anywhere you go somebody is going to hate on you wherever you go. Just throwing that out there not trying to get off topic. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

Faith is the belief in something greater than us one can put full trust, confidence, and reliance on when difficult times arise. I was raised to be involved with church activities to maintain my spiritual life; additionally my faith grew dramatically when my cousin deceased and gave me an overview of what I wanted to pursue my career as. When I was a child, my parents encouraged me to always be as loving and caring as I could be, not for personal gain, but to be benevolent to the people around me. I was raised with two loving parents, Mario and Rebeca, along with a younger brother, Mario and older sister, Ana.…

It’s hard to believe that something so small as switching schools could make a huge impact on your life, but I am proof that it is possible. The best solution isn’t always to change schools, but in my case it was. I will be forever thankful that I had the opportunity to attend Marvell Academy.…

The relationship I chose to analyze for my interpersonal communication paper was the relationship I had with my ex-girlfriend Laura. We met in high school through mutual friends and we dated throughout my junior and senior years. Communication problems and trust issues eventually were too big of a barrier to knock down and our relationship ended there. The main concepts I chose to analyze about my previous relationship were Personal Language, Nonverbal Communication, Proximity, the Social Penetration Theory, and lastly Relationship Threats. Growing up, I noticed, when approached with conflict, my sisters and my mother would often state that they did not want to talk about it or would simply leave the room. I now have a phrase for this: the exit response. For us, the exit response was always temporary. If the problem was serious, it would eventually be brought back up; if it wasn’t, then things usually got better on its own. While my dad is often the first to use the voice response, I have noticed that my dad often chooses the loyalty response, too.…
