Middle school can be an odd and rough time for kids, as they change from being sheltered youth to responsible young adults. I failed miserably at handling that transition. The classes taught in middle school were supposed to be easy, especially now that I look in retrospect. Yet, I regularly brought home B’s and low A’s, at best, on my report card. I had barely challenged myself in middle school, if at all. It seemed that I was on a one-way track for going to a less than prestigious institute for college. However, after four years of high school I’m able to graciously accept admission to NC State university, despite what seemed like a bleak start.
