The day was refreshing with the temperature in the upper 70s, unlike the normal 100 degree weather we had before. Excitedly, I jumped onto the boat knowing I would never be the same when I came back. Shooting up into the air I suddenly fell down and was splashed in the face. I suddenly heard my little brother laugh from the distance and I was motivated again. The boat's speed picked up and I crashed against the waves. Then almost out of nowhere the tube shot into the air again, but this time it was different. Slowly, I hit the water and my hands were rendered useless. Quickly I tried to grab onto the tube, but it was too late. It felt like I was in slow motion. Suddenly my life jacket pulled me up and I was fine. I tried calling out to the boat, but they couldn’t hear me. About a minute later, the boat had turned around and I had calmed myself down. Falling off was actually fun. The boat pulled up to me and I headed to the ladder.
My mom shouted, “Great job!”
I called back “Thanks”. I slowly climbed the ladder and started to dry off.
My grandpa asked, “Did you have fun?”
I replied “ Yeah, it was tons of fun.” I finished drying off and started to walk to the back of the boat. Walking around the boat I noticed that my little brother wanted to talk to me.
I asked him, “Was that cool?”
He replied “Yeah my favorite part was when you fell in.” I laughed and walked to the front of the boat. Exhausted, I laid down and closed my eyes. A few minutes later I opened my eyes and my grandpa was standing over me and asked “Do you wanted to drive?”
Jumping up I shouted “Of course.” As I was driving, I recalled how much fun that I had while I was tubing. That fear was no match for fun. Every summer since that day, I have tubed and loved it just as much as the first time I did
