I could feel the cold, crisp air seeping through my jersey as I watched our struggling defense. Who were jaded and bittered, letting up more than 28 points this game. As our opponent’s defense let up only 24 points. I could feel the tension in the crowd, and in our own teammates. “Touchdown Gators!” the Announcer yelled through the monumental microphones. The crowd roaring with anger at the helpless mustang defense, who were walking to the bench with their heads down. If only we had a better defense, thinking in my head as I observed the scoreboard change from 28-24 to 35-24. 5 minutes left before we go home with or without a trophy.
“Return team, get out there” the coach ordered,as if he was hoping for a miracle. When I got onto the field, I could hear the crackling of the snow colliding against the bottom of my cleats. I could see the kicker from the opposite end of the field, with his armed raised like if he was carrying a flag. With full force, he booted the ball to my side of the field. I caught the ball as it was coming down, but was later taken down by one of the gator’s defensive

To know that the Mustangs still have a chance at the trophy. But when things were getting better, it all went south when the announcer said “2 minute warning”. I thought to myself, How? As the scoreboard changed to 31-34, gators still winning. Our coach said “we are going to do a regular kick off”, our whole team was scared to swallow what the coach was giving us. I could feel a chill going down my spine as if a snake was slithering down my spine. Matt, our kicker booted the ball and got a touchback. Sweat dripping down my forehead and hitting my eyes, while I watched our defense once again struggling against the Gators offense. I said to Robby “it's over, we are not going to win”. “Don’t say that Bradley” Robby said to me with anger. When me and robby were talking behind the bench, with doubts in our

The whole team and some of their classmates were all jammed inside of a small, four walled white room with only one window, their last teacher for the day, Mrs. Carey, a math teacher who was a middle aged woman with short greyish hair who had strict rules, but was fairly nice if you weren’t being a goof during her class, asserted “Now even though the boys have a game tomorrow there will still be still…

It’s that time of year, the leaves are starting to turn and the weather is still scorching hot outside. Fall has finally arrived and I’m back at school for another semester. Fall baseball has just begun and it’s time for the first scrimmage. I walk out of the locker room and put my hands over my laces, and step out on the concrete and hear that first crack of the spike hitting the ground. I head to the best spot on the field the third base dugout.…

I can remember like it was yesterday, when the championship game was on the line. Sweat dripping from my body likes wet towels being drench by hand. Fans’ shouting from both sides of the stands as the game is continuing on. The only thing that’s running through my mind is scoring the winning touchdown and all the fans celebrating with my team and I. Before the Quarterback snaps the ball, I took a deep breath as if it would have been my last and nod my head. The ball shoves into the Quarterback hand and everybody collide into each other like eighteen wheelers.…
