I enjoyed reading your chosen concept. "To die with dignity" is a phrase that has always been close to my heart, though I am not sure that I ever took the time to analyze exactly what this concept entailed. As a nurse I feel that we all strive to do the best for our patients and meet their requests on a daily bases. Every patient deserves to have their needs met, this becomes even more important at the end of life. Markson (1971) states that those at the end of life should have the right to die in a stable and comfortable surrounding with opportunity for physical, psychological and spiritual comfort.
