This I Believe Essay Draft I was 9 years old and my little league team was in the city championship for the second year in a row. We came into the game feeling strong about our team, thinking that nobody could beat us. The first few innings were pretty stress free, a few mistakes here and there but nothing major had happened yet. I believe it was the 3 inning and the score was tied 1-1 when we pulled our starting pitcher out of the game and put in our star pitcher, Duncan. What happened next was unimaginable, they scored 3 runs in a row.…

That summer I made the conscious decision to take back my life. I reevaluated and saw that the way that I was living was not what I wanted for myself, that I deserved better. I took matters back into my own hands and changed my life. I got a job, I participated in community service, and I found myself again somewhere along the way. When school started this year, I welcomed it as a challenge to push myself even more.…

My sixth grade summer was one I will never forget. It was also the point in time where my life took a complete turn and flipped upside down on me. The beginning of my sixth grade summer, which was all the way back in the year 2011, was actually a great time for me for a lot of reasons. I’d still consider the summer of 2011 to be the best I’ve ever had. I was outside all day, every day either at the park or riding bikes around town with my friends.…

I was eight and in California visiting with my vegetarian grandparents. We were being seated in a vegan restaurant for a late lunch. Summer was the time for teenagers to explore , learn new things and grow a little. For me, my summer did not consist of any of those, yet included regret and memories I would like to forget. Although, the vacation we took to Niagara Hotel as a family started off on a good note. I kicked my shoes off and laid flat on my bed. The bed in the suite was so luxurious , the covers were Egyptian silk which easily clinged onto my skin.…

Jackie Robinson once said “I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me… all I ask is that you respect me as a human being.” This was my motto as i moved to the USA from Egypt at the age of six years old. Although i was not as old as i am now it was still tough. Thanks to determination and persistence i was able to not only make it in school but understand the language and speak it. It had been a year after my brother was born, i had made a lot of friends in kindergarten, had my dad’s side of the family here, i had finally learned to read and write a little bit of Arabic, and was about to go to first grade.…
