When it came down to about 7th grade I was a more experienced player, and by that time I had found my favorite position. It was the catcher's position. I loved that position so much because I was good at it and it made me the “boss” of the field. I took a strike and my count was 2 strikes and 3 balls. I hit the ball to left field. That was so exciting.
After three wins the day felt like it was over. It wasn't even noon. So we played one more before our “lunch” break. I was so tired, weak in the knees, I was really badly dehydrated, but I made a commitment and i had to keep it. That whole game I caught, hit, caught, and hit some more. Finally that game was over.
During the break I couldn’t eat or drink but I felt like passing out. My coach game me a lecture about how good I was doing and about how it was almost over (we still had three more games) and I needed to keep pushing. So I did. At the next game I was pail in the face and wasn't very steady on my feet, but I did it. I thought I was going to faint because I was so hot and dehydrated. Did I mention it was about 100 degrees at that time, anyway our pitcher threw the ball to me I couldn't see it and it hit me in the face.
