Personal Narrative: The Word Trade

Hours and hours of extensive research and planning went into this moment in time. Dim lights from the hallway protruded into my bedroom, and an eerie silence echoed through the crevices of my house as I imprinted my head deep into my sweaty palms. Scrolling imperceptibly down the page of my Charles Schwab account, I found myself gliding the cursor over a large green button that displays the word “trade”. My heart pulsated violently as I clicked on the left side of my mouse and selected the buy option. It brought me to a remote and exotic new territory, like a sailor navigating uncharted waters, and opened a new page, with various options to select from. Every click of the mouse tempted my mind to say no, to give up, to turn around, but my fingers
