Personal Narrative: The Washougal Post Office

Decent Essays
I don't know who on our block has been affected by this, but I've experienced misdelivered mail the last few days.

I had my mail dropped off my front porch today, and I personally delivered my neighbor's mail yesterday. I just called the Washougal Post Office (835-8582) to explain the situation, and was told there is a new driver on our route. Hopefully, this problem will be addressed with the new driver and resolved soon. If you are having problems with any misdirected mail, I suggest you call and let the Post Office know.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) provided efficient and reliable communications across the United States for more than two centuries. It has grown in both number of post offices and ways to deliver mail. Nonetheless, mail volume has substantially decreased as electronic mail and package delivery companies took business away from the USPS. Although the traditional mail system independently lasted throughout the years without any changes and still held some value, by restructuring the United States Postal Service to meet the needs of the changing world, it can thrive economically and increase mail volume as well. To begin with, the Postal Service continues to endure the hardships of the fast-changing world.…

It is essential that the American people maintain the symbols, by also incorporating modern principles to renovate the image of the postal service.…

The post office should stop delivering junk mail and spending time and money doing it by sending them through email. The ecosystem is affected because of the amount of trees being killed for pieces of paper that often are thrown away. In an article about, “[junk mailers] are cutting down trees willy nilly, and that has got to stop.” (Source D, McDevitt) If junk mailers and companies want to send null letters, let it be on the internet.…

With the windows down, the crisp, cool summer air permeated throughout my body, acquiring every hair to stand at attention. Buffalo surrounded and granged lazily through the corn fields that shot high to the sky, as if every row was assembled soldiers getting ready to march. South Dakota is known for open fields with a consumed, laid back lifestyle with not much ever going on. Going into the trip knowing this, I was not in the least bit excited. It was when I absorbed the laid back atmosphere and appreciated every single bit of their way of life.…

When I visited George Washington my sophomore year of high school, I instantly knew that your school is where I wanted to go for college. It just wasn't like any of the other colleges that I had seen before, and for that matter it was unlike any I have seen since. I saw that GW is in a beautiful location and that its presence in the capitol greatly enhances both its value and the city’s around it. I really liked walking around the campus, as it was extremely vibrant. I saw that safety is also important, and the combination of security that holds jurisdiction in this area is extremely reassuring.…

While I was at my tour at the William George Agency, I have learned three new things that were related to juveniles. The first thing that I learned on the tour was that the juveniles there on the campus are allowed to participate in athletic sport competitions against other high schools around them, even one of the schools they compete against is a school that’s in my home town. The Impact of the lesson for me was that, knowing the kids from William George school were allowed to play in competitive games against other schools, it gave them a chance to have fun and explore in something new that could possibly grow on them as a new interest that could then pursue them on setting future goals, because I am a firm believer of sports being a gateway…

Living in 1850s In the “Last Runaway “written by Tracy chevalier, the different challenges that they had to face living in 1850s compare to living in the year 2015. First of all let me talk about the mailing system, cause we all heard the character in the book said that they didn’t had a way to get the mail safely from one destination to another one. Also that most of the time the mail will not even reach to his final destination and you should expect to have a 2-month delay between them.…
