The foreboding feeling from reading the prayer makes one wonder how much of an effect it could have not only for the…
The first implication is that spiritually transforming power of prayer requires time and disciplined training that not only takes place within the session but outside the session as well (McMinn, 2007, p 89). The second implication is that spiritually sensitive counselors may have to teach some of their clients about prayer, which can be done by giving the clients prayer homework…
The Infantryman I joined the Infantry as I wanted a challenge and excitement in my life. We are known to be stupid by the rest of the army. Actually, we are the most valuable bunch in the army. Our training is one of the hardest training that you can ever go through as a human being. It test you physically, mentally and emotionally.…
Hallo, I am 22 year old Erich Heusinger of Brandenburg, Germany. I am Catholic and am moderately wealthy through affluent parents. I am currently fighting in the trenches of this great war. I enlisted with my classmates a few years after I finished high school, vying for the glory common to heroic tales of warfare. My older brother, Karl enlisted in the naval forces.…
So it started out as a normal school day and as we were coming back from lunch we all went to the restroom and only six of us got taken. As we were using the restroom Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Hayden Elliott, Kaylie Hawks and myself were pulled into the sewers and through a pipe that somehow took us to a island. We were stranded there by ourselves the island was like a forest in a way it has tall redwood trees high grass like the jungle and a beautiful glossering pond. So as we were there we were all panicking then I just got really quiet. We went to bed and the next morning Hayden and Jahzara were fighting over food we had from killing Andrew we had a lot of food left over from yesterday but both Jahzara and Hayden wanted that same piece.…
Ernest Holmes often stated: “We treat, and we move our feet.” That saying summed up his doctrine that prayer must motivate us to action, in accordance with the realization achieved in that prayer; otherwise, our disappointments in life result from not keeping our appointment with Life. In order for the realization of a greater good to be achieved it must be expressed, not just impressed upon our mind in the hope that something better will be done for us or given to…
The Devon School was once full of life and everyone was happy that is, until I came. The boys really thought they knew who I was but they were completely wrong. This all began at the Devon school I met Gene, Finny, Leper, Brinker, and the other students. At first when I met Gene I was suspicious of him because I felt he was not trustworthy and was conservative. However, I noticed that Finny trusted everyone, including Gene, which he was humble and did not brag about how athletic or cool he was.…
The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…
As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

I am doing the greatest generation because they seem like the ones with the most content and interesting. This generation endured a lot of hardships. They were born post World War 1 world where europe was ravaged by the great war. They toughed it out through the great depression the hardest recession of the United States. They hated prohibition but went through that with illegal alcohol.…
My Memoir It was four years ago, around Thanksgiving, when my mom’s boyfriend broke his legs. We were climbing a rock at the mountain, giant rock. Then suddenly he slips and was going to fall on his back but then, he landed on his feet. It didn’t end well because it turned out that he shattered one leg then broke the other.…
My Memoir I remember day that my parents told me I was going to have to move schools, it was a huge turning point in my life and it might not seem like a big deal but it was, and still is, to me. Both my parents are principals at Lincoln County schools so they switch schools periodically. This happened the summer of my first grade and I didn’t understand all of their duties and how the school systems work. It was around June or July at night almost time to go to bed, when my mom told me to stop playing and talk to her for a little bit.…
By not rushing through prayer I am able to connect with god…
In a time of war, I felt very limited, trapped in my situation, I had to do something. Looking back now many things contributed to that decision. My grandmother, Bathsheba, used to come visit my home in Plymouth, when I lived with my mother. She would tell me about a woman named Joan of Arc, a woman that led the french to victory over the british. My grandmother also made me aware of how that woman died, by being burned at the stake for not listening to the rules of the church.…
