The Ultimate Sport Pow! The disc smacked me right in the lip while and everyone cheered. Ultimate Frisbee began for me in middle school. Every recess, my friends and I would run outside with an old disc as fast as we could to play. Ultimate is a great sport that requires a ton of skill as well as physical endurance. In middle school, I already knew how to run because I ran cross-country, so the endurance was not difficult too hard for me to master. All the other kids hated the running, but I loved it. I could also swat the disc down on defense like crazy, and I could catch anything in my general vicinity. I achieved the nickname of “The Tower” because I was tall and was strong on both great at defense and catching the disc. Sometimes even if it wasn’t near me, I could sprint to where it was going to land and make an awesome play. I did, however, have a significant downfall- I could not throw further than six feet. I did not want to throw it at all because I was so bad at it. If I can catch the disc to make a play, it doesn’t matter if I can’t make a …show more content…
I would not throw the disc to anyone unless they stood were really close to me. My other friends could throw it all the way down the field, so I didn’t even want to try to get better. When that year ended, I felt as though Ultimate was an awesome sport that I was fairly good at, but I still had to learn the most basic skill.
That summer, an older kid that I knew, who was absolutely ridiculous at frisbee and went to the national competitions, hosted pick up at a field close to my house. He taught me how to throw the frisbee as a classic backhanded throw. I grewot fairly decent at it and could then throw the frisbee around twenty yards instead of six feet. He inspired me to focus on my areas that needed improvement instead of ignoring them. The summer was a success and I felt much more confident in my

I have played baseball ever since I was a young kid, but somehow, at seventeen I still had numerous struggles with it. You would think after my grandpa being drafted to the Pittsburgh Pirates, a Major League baseball team, and my dad getting a full ride to the University of Denver their skill would have rubbed off on me, but you would be wrong. I wasn't terrible, I could hit a 90 mile per hour fastball and I could, for the most part, field a ground ball. However, I was definitely not about to be scouted by the college scouts.…

For as long as I can remember, I have always played as the left fielder in baseball. Playing this position was always easy for me. When I estimated the trajectory of a ball speeding through the air, I could always run to where I thought it would be and catch it. It was as if the outfield became my home, I was comfortable there. One day during practice, my coach told me to try and play as the first baseman.…

I was able to understand the techniques and able to throw the discus farther than a lot of people from the start. My furthest throw the first year was 120 feet and by the middle of last year before I had to stop I was throwing almost 200 feet if I remember correctly and my average is 190 feet. That is only 62 feet shorter of the furthest discus thrown according to the Genesis Book of World Records. Even though throwing is difficult sometimes it is still an amazing experience to go through. I think that the most important thing to remember while throwing is to remember to step out of the back of the pit or else whatever throw you made will not count.…
