I walked down the yellow, narrow halls. Upperclassmen stared at me bugged eyed, looking like they were disgusted. “Get out of my way stupid freshman!” I heard echoing from down the hall. I watched as my close friend got a book thrown at the back of his head. I stared in amazement and disbelief. He looked as scared as I was. My friends behind me stood with a bunch of people I didn’t know. I thought to myself, “how in the world do you know all these upperclassman?” “That was so funny, don’t you think Chelsea?” I looked at my friend Sylvia with dismay. I shook my head slowly, embarrassed to make fun of my friend. “Common we are hanging out after school, don’t forget!” Sylvia shouted to me. I walked away from her, realizing yet again I wouldn’t have time to do homework that night. …show more content…
People close to me had always told me that every year is very important and to try my best. Trying my best was not my priority. My priority that year was about my friends who only cared about fitting in too. The transition from middle school to high school was difficult for everyone, but greatly for me. I realized my classes had more homework, more tests and had a tougher curriculum than in middle school. I turned to my friends for help, however all they had to say was, “what should we do over the weekend?” It was always a tough decision for me. I strived for great grades, and I believed I could achieve them without any effort at all. Those choices I made reflected on my grades from my freshman

The transition from High School can often times be very frustrating for students. L. Lennie Irvin opened my eyes to one of the bad habits I picked up on in High school. The habit of straying from the topic or theme could cause me to fail not only papers in English but my other courses as well. I personally had a hard time with English my first semester of college. In High school I was always at the top of my class and my teachers would tell me how great of a writer I was.…

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

I’m pretty sure he goes to my school, because there is only one middle school in my whole city. The person is also the height of an average middle schooler. The juvenile is also really thin, like a paper. The costume that he is wearing is very loose, and just flows in the wind on him.…
