“What?”, my mom asked with a bewildered look on her face. A spark of hope filled my chest. We changed direction and went back the way we came from. After about 15 minutes, my uncle blurted out, “Wait, if we went back, wouldn’t it mean that it would take even longer!” Everyone went silent for a minute or two, silently agreeing with him.
