This week was fun for me because I made the soccer team and we had a fun week of practices. We had much less homework this week than the previous week which was very fortunate because my brother and I had their grade’s curriculum nights so I was not getting home until eight thirty. There were three quizzes/tests this week which was a little rough but I think I got through them well. I thought that the Socratic seminar in LA was a little bit of a dud because…

To be a leader, one must first earn the trust and respect of one’s peers and become someone that they would listen to. As a petite, easily distracted female, I often have trouble becoming a person that others listen to outside of the classroom. Thus, becoming this leader and being elected and inducted as the president of the York Suburban Trojan Theatre Club is my most impressive achievement in leadership. At first, people did not know who I was, so I was able to build a reputation for myself by becoming the props crew lead in all but official title. Still, when backstage, I have a reputation as a leader.…

The first Broadway musical I enjoyed was Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was about thirteen years old. It was more elaborate than the small performances at Disney World. There was more music, elaborate set designs, and more seats in theater. I was very impressed by the singing and actors ability to flow through the material.…

My classroom procedures are very clear, which the class has become familiar with over the semester. Students are to come in from their special class and grab their materials and go sit on the carpet and get ready for math to begin. These are expectations that should be memorized by now. Many of them do this and it contributes to the flow of the classroom and the engagement level of the entire groups. Students are expected to pay attention to the speaker during the mini-lesson by facing their way and not playing with any other items.…

There is a moment for everyone where they realize their goals and aspirations. Once they do, nothing will stop that person from achieving their goals. For me, my whole life has led up to me pursuing a filmmaking career, and nothing is going to stop me. Film is one of many influences that made me the man I am today. In my pursuit to becoming a filmmaker, I have been blessed with friends that shared similar interest in filmmaking, opportunities to work on independent film productions as well as other short film documentaries, and motivations to be a smarter and better person.…

Growing up, I was always a hard worker. At age nine I sold enough newspaper subscriptions to win a bicycle in my hometown of Allegheny, Pennsylvania. It was also at that age, that I was fortunate enough for my family to travel to New York for my career. At age thirteen, I was a chorus girl and later on when I was fifteen, I performed at Pan- American exposition in the “Trip to the Moon” exhibit. At age sixteen, I had an opportunity to perform in Mr. Bluebird along with my mother at the Iroquois theater.…

Different moments of our lives change us and shape us into the man or woman whom one day we will become. One moment that changed me was when I got my first instrument. Getting my first instrument was exciting, yet challenging at the same time. When I told my mom that I wanted to start playing music, I didn’t realize how hard it can truly be. I didn’t think of how much patience and time I would need to put into my practicing.…

It also helped me to discover a creative and innovative part of my personality and I thrived while creating art pieces. Previously in middle school, I received the same happiness and passion from the theatre program. While it became a safe haven to indulge in theatre activities and connect with my teacher, it soon was cut due to budget cuts. My school was distraught and the students were emotionally hurt. Although budget cuts are out of the control of the students, the community must come together to help our schools financially.…

Although what I want to do is perform, I think that having a basic knowledge of technical theatre is important. For one, if I ever needed to do a technical job to supplement my income–which is a likely possibility–I could fall back on my technical experience. This class has also made me appreciate technical theatre a lot more. I knew technical theatre was not easy, but I now have a whole new level of respect for people who choose to do it as their career. I think it is advantageous for people to take this their first semester in the program because, at least for me, it was not something I had considered before.…

When the word “home” is defined in a dictionary you are given definitions like “the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered” or “any place of residence or refuge” but to me home means so much more. To me, home is theatre. Those who know me well will attest that the change in me throughout this experience is drastic. Theatre transports me to places I couldn’t dream of otherwise and two years ago, I was taken to a place that would change my life forever and theatre transformed to the place I call home. Thoughts and ideas flooded my mind as I stepped into the off-green colored cafeteria.…

The Dreaded Reading Class It was the first day of third grade. I jumped out of my moms car after kissing her on the cheek and hearing the routine “have a good day”. I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

This year art one, or my art class with Mr.Puffpaff, was fun. It was fun for many reasons such as the fact I got to use paints, values, the reflection of light to draw, etc. However, It was also fun because I got to explore my creativity as well as learning how to use the different skills properly. For example, when I did the pop can landscape project I had to overlap them, so I made a huge chandelier out of them, and drew a miniature family at the bottom with pop can furniture. However, I had to overlap them as well as making the size of the pop cans get smaller as it got closer to the top which was challenging for me.…

I decided to take an acting class because acting has always been apart of my life. Since I was a kid my dad had my siblings and I in front of the camera, making dorky little skits and creative movies throughout the summer just to find someway for us all to bond, and it didn't stop when we grew up either. As I got older I started taking interest in directing the films just as much as I took interest in acting in them and because of this we would spend weeks upon weeks coming up with different ideas and clever ways to make movies and plays that would grab someone's attention. We didn’t care if they didn’t make sense or how goofy we were, we just wanted to have fun. Unfortunately though, life…
