The summer disaster
It was a hot day in the middle of summer. I wanted to get out of the house, even though it was about 90 degrees outside. So, I got the keys to the garage and got my bike out. I hooked the keys to my belt and sped off. Unfortunately, I live in a terrible neighborhood. So, I was taking some different paths when I decided to go to Thomas Jefferson Elementary. There was trash on the street and broken beer bottles. I stopped and looked down the street. “Maybe I shouldn’t go over here…” I thought
Instead of going somewhere else, I decided to still ride my bike down there. I went on the sidewalk and stopped my bike. There was a group of kids that I hadn't noticed before. When …show more content…
My legs were already sore from riding so much, but that didn’t stop me. My goal was to get away from them as fast as possible. I couldn’t hold my tears any longer. I was crying like there was no tomorrow. This only made me pedal faster. I turned to go to my house, but then I saw they were following me. I should've thought about that… I went past my house to the next. My turn was so sharp, that my tires made a mark on the pavement. I pedaled down the hill and turned again. I hit the brakes and saw just the tip of a bike tire. My eyes widened. I pedaled to another house with big bushes. I swerved into the bushes. I saw as they passed the bushes. The bushes had prickly leaves that stabbed me. So, it was very uncomfortable. I got out and pulled my bike out as well. I went back home and locked up the bike in the garage. I passed the window and looked at my reflection. My hair was messy and had leaves sticking out of it. My clothes were wrinkled and had sweat spots under my armpits. My eyes were red and puffy from trying to hold in my tears. “God, I'm a mess.” I said picking out some leaves from my hair. I took a deep breathe and went inside.
My parents rushed over to me when I walked into the living room. My mom had a very worried expression on her face. Her hair was pulled back into a bun and she had baggy clothing. My dad had the same expression on his face. He had on his favorite lime green shirt on with some shorts. The dog hopped toward me with a happy expression.
