What we have adapted to and think are normal look very weird to others who haven’t seen people doing things like this. Such as someone who has never shaved before would think that is very odd to shave your beard. Or someone who has never seen a drive threw would think it’s weird to have people have food handed out the window. The baseball field is where I spend most of my weekends and evenings with my family “cheering” on my brother. In reality, when I get there, I have parents waiting for me to watch over the younger siblings of the baseball players playing that day. One of my favorite memories from the field was when I handed the kid I was watching a package of gummy worms, and he looked up at me with his smile hidden under his chubby cheeks. When I was younger, I would always look up to teenagers because I felt that they had some sort of coolness since they were the “big kid.…

This newly discovered confidence made all of the hours of work and all of the mental and physical exhaustion I had felt during the season worth…

When I was about six years old, my friends who were about 12 or 13 at the time invited me to the baseball field. The one bad part was that to get to the baseball field we had to cross a major road to get there, but at least there was a light. My parents told me I could only go if we were being driven, but I went anyway. It was scary crossing the street, mostly because we did not cross at the crosswalk. We were too lazy to walk down the neighborhood and cross at the light.…
