Personal Narrative: The Slaughter Clan

Others may think quilts are not very fascinating, to them they are nothing more than large pieces of woven material. But it is the memories stitched into each section that gives this particular winter item the ability to fill your body with tenderness and warmth. When I look on the days where I didn’t have a remedying friend, or family member I found myself always having a quilt. But not just any quilt, I had Blanky. I that had trouble before the quilt came into our presence. The Slaughter Clan didn’t get along much. We fought, and bickered like cats and dogs. Our family were slowly going down hill. The soothing support of this blue, purple, and white quilt gave ours endless reasurement that wherever we went we knew that God was with us. Even though, God was hard to embrace physically one touch of blanky was enough to represent that the breath of God was most noticeable even though the blessings of the woven church quilt.

My family and I believe the power of god is to praise for situations that turned into better ones like: Improving my Grandma Barbara’s sermons making her more useful in the ministry for God, aiding my mother Kisha to cope with stressful experiences in life, and guiding me get through the many complications as a baby in order to fully grow into a healthy young adult. Blanky is not a Savior, but a Guardian Angel in a form that God choose to create for us. Through all the hard times as a family we’ve always had a few moments that were supposed to tear us apart, but just like blanky we stayed strong and kept intact, because we knew that if our miracle cloth could get through the hard times in life, We could also. This blanket resembled a shield of force to block us from the demons that tried to attack us. I am truly blessed for what God have given me, and in my dust filled closet lies Blanky crisp, clean, and
