Personal Narrative: The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People

Being in high school comes with a lot of responsibilities such as, turning in my work on time, effectively communicating with my teachers, and even more. These responsibilities are the key for me being successful in school and in the future. Responsibility and success should be one of my main priorities. I come to school every day to learn and be the best that I can be, but sometimes I can often get sidetracked. Since, I am a teenager in high school drama heavily influences my life and it is very overwhelming. Sometimes the influence of drama and gossip can take me out my character and become someone that I don’t want nor need to be. In the pass I have been known to easily pop off and get very upset but, this year I am trying to become a new and improved person, which is very hard. Even though it isn’t in my nature to back down from anyone I need to learn that sometimes I have to ignore people. If I continue to argue and lose control of myself, I can make a problem bigger, which could lead to consequences that may ruin my future. So, I am beginning to approach life in a new light by using Habit 1 of “The Seven Habits of …show more content…
When he says something about me I feel as if I owe it to myself to respond because he is being very rude and disrespectful. When he gets in my face or says something about me it is automatic for me to get up and say something back because if I just sit there I feel like others will think that I am a punk or scared of him which, is not true. I just don’t want to get in trouble and jeopardize my future. I now realize if I do that I am opening the gates for him to say something else to me, which could lead to an argument or even a fight. As hard as it is to ignore him I know it is the best thing to do because by me jumping into the problem I begin escalate the problem. Now I just ignore him and keep things
