One of my largest commitments, Science Club, hosts a Science Bowl competition yearly in the fall. Competitions require hundreds of hours of preparation and execution. In order to run the competition smoothly as head coordinator I am in charge of delegating and carrying out the multitude of tasks to be completed. While the preparation may be done perfectly, many problems arise quickly on tournament day, and I am responsible for solving them swiftly. Because of the skills and coordination required for the event, my ability as a leader to think decisively and act quickly while still taking into account the concerns of other volunteers has helped me greatly.
