The Sacramental Life
Describe how you imagine the Holy Spirit. To start this entire paper off, I am not a Catholic, Christian, Muslim, or Jew. I grew up Christian, and became a Muslim, and was one for about two-and-a-half years. From April 2015 to about May 2016, I had a few stages where I might go off of atheistic or agnostic thoughts and have my spiritual life "complete" there, but for the past couple months, I have figured out that when I have a discussion or to describe myself spiritually, I will just come out and say I do not want to have a label on me. I now respect all religions and all the ways that humanity has came to seek and find higher powers. I personally think the power is us, and that the real thing that is important is keeping the planet as healthy as it can be for as long as it can be. Now to how I imagine the Holy Spirit. When I was a Christian, I saw the Holy Spirit as something a televangelist would look like. I used to always see God as a masculine man, and the words "Holy Spirit" just sounded a

I have only lived seventeen years in a vastly-changing world, and I have changed many times too. What I can do to be faithful to the covenant of marriage is love my wife as I would love our beautiful Earth. I would try to create an atmosphere (along with my wife) in our house that would give us a feeling that we can be honest with each other and make it great atmosphere where we can have fun and make each other laugh. I would wear our wedding ring to keep it as a reminder of my wife and I's love. Along with being faithful to the covenant, I would not engage in having another partner, or doing things that would take value away from my romantic/marriage life. This includes doing bad drugs, lying, treating her as an object, or just being a lazy partner who does not want to achieve anything that blows his

The site that I visited was Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro, NC. I went to a sermon, with some friends, that took place on a Sunday night. When we arrived at the church, we stayed together and observed the site. The members of this church all seemed to be within their twenties and thirties; there were a few younger children and a few older women and men, but not many. Most of these people seemed to be from Christian ethnic backgrounds or just unaffiliated with any ethnicity.…

It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder.…

“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” George W. Bush stated this about the cowardly September 11th attacks. During that fateful day I was glued to my poorly constructed high school chair, gazing in disbelief what was unfolding on Mr. Cox’s History class television.…

Many people don’t know what they want to be when they “grow up”, as for my mother she didn’t know what type of religion she wanted to be in when she “grew up”. However, she did know the basics that she believed in which was God, the Holy Spirit, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Bible that being said she considered herself Christian and raised me as a Non-Denominational Christian. That was until my senior year of High School when my mom decided she no longer wanted to be part of the Non-Denominational Christian faith and switched over to becoming part of the LDS faith known as the Mormons and flipped my life upside-down with their different views of norms and values. Growing up Non-Denominational Christian is fairly simple faith and to me…

The men and women I saw at St. Brendan Catholic church were from a diverse race. I saw a mixture of White, Black, Asian and Hispanic. The majority of the members seemed Asian. This made me realized that it was likely for an English church to have a diverse population than a non-English church because the English Language was common. In my Church, the services are in Spanish only which attracts mostly Hispanic people from central America, and Mexico.…

Marriage is when two people make their relationship official, and permanent in a way which it is suppose to last forever until “death do us part”. Then again, for the past century, we have seen this practice of marriage increasingly cut short by the tragedy of divorce. Until death do us part can last several decades in a marriage, and a lot can happen during those decades of life. Your life changes and goes by every day and you can’t take a single one back or for granted. Your body changes, personality, loved people around you come and go, and your romantic love waxes and wanes.…

The yelling and the screaming these imbeciles do in this damn place is just so agitating! It’s all because the pastor makes a reference to the bad in this world. To me, it’s just pointless. On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…

I remember when I was little I used to say the trinitarian formula before and after every prayer I said, before meals, before bed, when I woke up, I would end up saying “In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit…” about 12 times in a day. Now despite this relentless repetition I didn’t really understand exactly what I was saying. It was only until I was in about 8th grade when I began to understand the doctrine behind the Holy Trinity. Along with this initial understanding, I have gained a new knowledge of it in this class. We’ve learned that the three persons posses one nature which is God.…
