The Rented Altima

The weekend had finally arrived. My wife and I got up early Saturday morning and headed to Enterprise to pick up a rental car for our family vacation. We left in a 2013 Nissan Altima and headed back home to pack our luggage. While heading home, my wife opened the glove compartment and found a bright yellow sticky note with the words, “Open up the compartment where the spare tire goes.” We were both curious. As soon as I pulled up to the house, I got out and opened the trunk. Inside, there was a black suitcase with stacks of money. I had three million dollars in the palms of my hands. My first thought was to spend some of it on a trip to Bora Bora, build a five hundred thousand square foot home for my family and give three hundred thousand dollars to a local little league football organization.

The first thing my family and I would do when we go there is admire the view, the crystal clear water that we see, those amazing mountains and those beautiful beach huts we get to stay in. Just imagine being put to sleep by the peaceful sounds of the ocean at night. Must be nice, right? Our first activity there would be to sight see around the island of Bora Bora. I’ve heard that tourists get to visit three villages. I would love to meet some of the people from Bora Bora and learn about their culture. I would pay the tour fee for everyone since I can now afford it. Secondly, I would like to go on an aqua safari with my wife. Exploring under the sea would be an experience to remember. We would learn about sea creatures and see them firsthand in their element. My wife and I would try to get as much of the Bora Bora experience as possible. To top off the trip, my wife and I would take the Honeymoon private photo tour. We’d take part in a romantic afternoon aboard a comfy boat with scenic views, enjoy complimentary champagne and have 300 photos taken of

When I ride it's like the earth stops at every corner so I can check to make sure a, loud, car isn't roaring towards me. I ride because I was thought that you need to be active in life, but it was never about the one hour of activity time we are supposed to have growing up. it was much more than that. I didn't need help to ride, I needed help to face down my enemies, or conquer my dreams.…

I could really use a break from school, chores/errands, motherhood; and one I know a little too well is stress. I want a chance to relax and unwind, enjoy the scenery, refocus, and recuperate. My ideal vacation would be to leave all my cares and worries behind and fly to the picturesque country of Hawaii.…

Someone had crawled underneath the car and cut out the valuable catalytic converter, and she couldn’t afford a replacement. When I looked at her and said, “That’ll be $563,” her face turned pale.…
