Personal Narrative-The Polar Express (Essay)

Decent Essays
Today while I was watching 'The Polar Express' a news alert came on and said that a tornado was heading for center Texas and it had 199 mph winds. I found out we only had 30 minutes until hit. I went to the grocery store and got water and some snacks. I checked out and by the time I got home I had 10 minutes left. I went to my storm cellar and when I went to lock it, my neighbor asked to come in and I almost did but I remembered the time she wouldn't let me play in her grass when I was 7 so I closed the door and locked it. I got on my phone but I wasn't worried that it would go dead because I had a portable charger. I got ready to go to sleep but I couldn't so I got back on my phone and read the hunger games instead.
I finally went to sleep

The UP (Upper Peninsula) can be considered Up North but normally it's just the UP.…

I miss them already. Despite the freezing cold snow and the nipping air, we had a lovely Christmas break. As I inspect my child, now grown with children of her own, holding tickets back to their home, longing envelopes me. Hoards of people push past, unaware of my pain, on their own schedules and heading toward different trains, talking and texting on their cell phones. My family boards, time as if in slow-motion, and waves goodbye until I see them again.…

If you ask me if I only have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go aboard, where I will choose to go? I will answer without any hesitation, "the Antarctic." Compare to others places, going to the Antarctic is a feeling of adventure or expedition because it is widely described as the last true wilderness on earth. The Antarctica is the highest, driest, coldest but also the remotest, quietest, purest land on the planet so that I want to feel how cold and pure it is. And the most attracts me is that no human population is native to the Antarctica, but the only residents are animals.…
