A similar conversation would follow every time, and my dad started to give me dirty looks. I got really annoyed, and I would rarely ask anymore.

My lungs were desperately gasping for air. My feet ached like crazy. My heart beat seemed to be going faster than ever. The rain had stopped a while back, and surprisingly, the trail had already dried. A rainbow glistened to the side, and the sun came back up, leaving a wonderful view. Sadly, I had no strength to admire the scenery, because adding to my energy loss, it was now getting tremendously hot. Nevertheless, I kept going. I knew that if I could do this, it would be a big accomplishment. I saw a point ahead which looked like a peak. I got excited and hurried up the mountain. I was going to do this!, I was thinking. All my enthusiasm dropped when I saw it wasn’t the peak.
“ You’re kidding right...”, I murmured, feeling shocked. To my left was a climb more precipitous than anything I had ever seen. I looked to my left and saw a huge climb, steeper than any other part of the hike. With as shock I realized this was the final climb my dad was warning me about. Nowadays, if I looked at that climb, I would climb up without hesitation. But at that point, it looked like a cliff. I didn’t think I could walk 10 more meters, and here this climb was. I was seriously thinking of quitting. My legs were throbbing tremendously, and this heat was frying me like a omelette. But with my dad’s encouragement, I kept going.
“ Just a little more”, he would keep telling
