Personal Narrative: The Overpopulation Of Cats

She wasn’t without a bullet or two...or three. When I first saw the cat she was at Cactus Jacks II. Many other cats were living within the restaurant property along with her. She attracted our attention more heavily so than the others, due to her state seeming even moreso rough than many other cats on the property.
“She that cat over there?” My grandmother asked, her finger extended towards a dumpster.
“Yeah, she looks a little rough.” I replied.
My grandmother and I noticed the cat didn’t look as healthy as some of the other cats were, and she had a large belly, assessing her appearance we decided that she may be pregnant. It would be unhealthy for the babies to be born at this property, and the mother seemed unhealthy.

We had a discussion about the overpopulation of cats, inside the restaurant. After I finished my meal, we exited the restaurant.”
The cat was close to the sidewalk both of us were observing the cat silently, until my grandmother spoke.
“Why don’t you take some of your leftover food, and set it down?”
Nervously I asked “Then what…?” Assuming she had a plan.
“Lure, her over, give her a piece of your food then I will attempt to pick the kitty up by the scruff.” Stated my grandmother quietly.
Without replying I gently set the food on the sidewalk, and moved back a few paces to allow the cat to approach us.
“Now, set another piece down, and quietly talk to her.” She informed.
I complied, and softly talked to the cat while feeding it another piece. It slightly spooked as it saw the arm of my grandmother looming above it’s head, but it remained. My grandmother finally grabbed her by the scruff with a good grip, and carefully carried the cat to the car.
I nervously sat in the car, driving home.
“Grandma, she’s circling my neck.” I mumbled nervously. Worrying she may injure
