Personal Narrative: The Nothingness Of Hell

The stillness of the air seemed to suck even the sound of my footfalls into the nothingness of a graveyard. Even the trees seemed not to rustle as if they were tense with nerves for what was to come. I could describe it as creepy, but eerie was closer to it.

Everything was the same yet different. The fall trees stood naked as they had before, but their twigs curled in a distorted way, as if the tree itself screamed in pain. The sky was a mass of grey cloud, again so ordinary for October, but instead of letting small shafts of light through they emitted an ethereal glow. The wind was just as bitter as the rising before, coming straight from the north, but the scent was something else, metallic almost, with a tinge of acrid burning.

Following along the winding path I began to see their bodies, they lay like ghoulish mannequins, the esophagus and arteries sticking out like so much corrugated and rubber tubing. It looked as if a special effects team had worked over time for

“Are you shitting me?” I asked, “Does anyone really fall for this bullshit you spew? Ughhh!” I said with contempt as I prepared for the attack I knew was coming.

“I am your worst nightmare; I will discover and play to your worst fears. I will understand what makes you tick. Then, I'll control you like a remote control toy and make you do unthinkable things to those you love.” He shrieked with venomous intent.

“Blab la bla.” I retorted. “Do you plan on talking me to death or shall we get on with this and get to the part where I mete out your destruction?” I taunted.

His anger was palpable, as he reached out for me. I moved slightly out of his reach to further taunt him with my feigned arrogance, an act to buy me some time for thought. He shrieks once again, spittle spilling from his grotesque
