Personal Narrative: The Move

Improved Essays
The Move I grew up in, Santa Clarita, California where I have lived for twelve long years of my life. I have established supportive friends and I was close to all my family member’s that have lived up there. I had learned to love the shriveled, boring town I grew up in. One day my parents had brought up an avoided topic at the dinner table. My dad has been bringing it up lately that he was going to staying in washington for a few months because the amount of work up there, my dad is a private investigator, me, my sister, and mom were all distressed about him staying up there so long. My dad was leaving that weekend and we had to say are goodbyes. After a month of my dad staying up there we went to visit. We took a two hour plane ride …show more content…
We went to football games and had a lot of sleepovers. Then seventh grade started and everyone went their separate direction. I followed one of the girls to her friend group because I had no one else to hang out with. Turns out they were not a good fit for me. Finally in eighth grade I started hanging out with another girl from my friend group from sixth grade and hung out with her friends. I hung out with them through all eighth grade and I was so happy that actually found really good friends that I enjoyed being with. Then high school started. Everyone says that when you start highschool you and your friends will drift apart. I so hoped that would not happen because I really liked the group of people I was hanging out with. It did not happen to me and my friends, we could not be any closer today. And i'm so grateful that turned out that way. My friends from california I still talk to them everyday, I go down there a lot to visit them and they come here to visit to. I'm glad that we did lose contact even though I moved away. My grandma that lived in california decided to move up here to, so she can visit us more often and be closer to us. My nana and papa still live in california but come to visit us

My family has always been a bigger force in my life than my friends, but my friends have certainly played a large role in making me the person I am today and in shaping how I see the world. Back in elementary school, my friendships were very context-dependent, changing year to year based on who was in my class. During the summer, my sister was my best friend, and that was totally okay. During my school age years, I attended Lakeview Elementary. I still go and visit the teachers and staff I had every once in awhile because they mean so much to me. Some other things I really enjoyed in school was having reading buddies, field day, and the Fridays in 5th grade when my teacher would play the guitar. At the end of the second grade, I started to get really sick with headaches, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Over the next few years, I saw many doctors and was diagnosed with migraines which may be from the car accident and last the rest of my life.…

I remember walking into the lunchroom on the first day of school, picking up my schedule, and then seeing my two best friends and going to say hi.
