It seems like the Army has a model that works. No matter who writes about decision making it seems to be very similar. If how we operate is a common consensus among everyone that leads people, as well as decision making in our own lives feels the same way, then I am more inclined now to believe that this process has to work. It was developed on sound principals that will benefit all involved. I think a large factor in the positive outcome of TLPs/COAs is having the necessary time to develop them. With time you can acquire all of the fundamental information needed to create different TLPs/COAs. Once you have different TLPs/COAs you can War Game them while comparing which lead to the most effective outcomes. Without the proper time the whole process would be hindered. You would have incomplete results and this would lead to plans that may not have the proper testing. That could be detrimental to the troops. The proper planning is paramount to the success of the operation.In the situation that I described, I do not think that I would change anything. We had a very well thought out plan, for such a short amount of time have everything and everyone prepared to be able to perform with the best quality.
