Pacing back and forth, I pondered how our volleyball fundraiser was going to stay afloat. The council was distraught, unable to acquire more teams, with the tournament in two days. With our advisors and the vice principal leaning towards canceling the event, my council had two choices: get eight more teams to sign up or call off the event. I didn’t want to cancel because I knew that as Junior and Senior year approached, we needed more money to fund our proms and class trips.…

Long Purple Teeth In the darkness, all I could see of the creature were its glowing tentacles, sparkling eyes, and long purple teeth. I stood unwillingly on the small patch of dead, faded grass, cornered by two walls. The walls, made of thick cement, began to feel like they were caving in on me. My eyes shifted to see what could have been a door behind the creature.…

These bumps moved somewhat, they were pulsing, and every time a bump on its skin pulsed, it gushed liquids. It was a horrifying sight to encounter, its face was tar-black, as if it was burnt in a fire. I crouched at the top of the stairs, getting…

Yet, many of us do not even care about going back.…

I was 23 before I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. As far back as Elementary school I knew that there was something “off” in the way that I processed information. That my ability to do well academically was somehow hindered by not having certain tools that I needed, tools I wasn’t even aware existed. In high school, I began to augment my deficits with strengths. Where my grades were lacking I made up for it through creativity; I excelled at art and photography.…
