The loner’s guide to changing the game in the party. Every time you think of the word party, it always has a connotation of exhilaration and a celebration of a triumph or just any other event. In contrast, it is very frustrating going to a party by yourself without knowing anybody around you. Millennials nowadays are very fearless and inquisitive in breaking orthodox. The feeling of belongingness in a social event is imperative as a person and also the influence of social media.

I used to live in Las Vegas, Nevada which is known for Parties and tourists. I should say that this glamorous city never sleeps, as the night gets darker the street lights keep getting brighter. As I remembered, one of the gigantic hotels on the strip had organized a street party for Halloween. I had prepared my diabolic costume as a zombie. I had used my dilapidated white dress that has tears with red and black paint as a blood smudged all over my dress. Beforehand, I had ecstatically invited friends to come with me to the Halloween party. Unfortunately, I had received a text message from my friends

I was standing quietly on a corner alone, depressed and afraid where everybody else is having fun in the party. There was a live band playing unprecedented songs and on the other end was a DJ playing vociferous club music. People are dancing as well as the bright lights swing back and forth that made the vibe very euphoric. Since it was a free party for everybody, the food and drinks are exorbitant. It even made me hungry smelling the aroma in the air of finger foods that they sell in booths around the party. It was licit to smoke everywhere, so it created thick white smoke that covered the whole place that made me noxious. I had decided to relinquish and go home since that night was very unfortunate. As I was walking away, a feeling of regret covered me and part of me still wanted to stay and have

Halloween is like a horror movie, except with drunk teenagers instead of axe murders. It was about two years ago, when we were still living in Germany. It was a fairly peaceful Halloween night and the sun was about to set. My friends and I were walking around the village, what Germans call a town. After about half an hour of us walking around and talking, some acne filled, tall, muscular and older, German teenagers came up to us.…

The riding I am in has been pretty much predominantly conservative for the most part, though now that the conservative MP isn't the same person, a larger opportunity is open for the other parties (NDP has remained the 2nd most popular as far as the last 2 results went). I voted for the NDP at the end, but I was glad that I didn't have to vote strategically as I don't really dislike any particular parties. It is interesting how my family thinks of the Conservative Party, my dad for one claims the Conservatives to be racist, while my aunt (who voted for the Conservatives) showed concerns about marijuana. As for electoral reforms, I don't really see it happening outside of the NDP, but even at that, if it is left up to a referendum to ask…

The sky is blue, morning blue, when the sun is just rising, at about 6 o’clock. The chilly Autumn morning made me feel safe as I peered out the dew lined window. Leaves blew across the street, yet not too many because it's early in the season. Its nice to look out, seeing the smoke come out of the chimneys from the warm homes where everyone is asleep this sunday morning. Then out of the corner of my eye, amongst the beautiful fall scenery and warm houses was a guy, creeping out the back mill door.…

Baseball Baseball has always been one of my favorite sports, and it will always be the longest sport I’ve played. A total of 9 years in Khoury league and 2 years in high school, so all in all I have been playing this sport almost all my life. I started baseball with the Red Bud T-ball team, the team had a count of 15 people including me and excluding the coaches. Those 15 kids playing on that team became some of my bestest friends and greatest teammates to have. Most of them ended up being with me until we couldn't play khoury league anymore, and then only about 3 or 5 of them played school ball with me.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

Iclesias Phanord Breaking the Norm I’m surrounded by bouncing basketball and expectations. I had not yet found my vocation. However, many people around me had; whether it was basketball, cheerleading, or track - they had found a purpose that drove them. I did attend the Republican debate and it was like some 5 years kids yelling at each other. Yesterday was "Super Tuesday", the day when 11 states held their presidential primaries. Clinton swept through the southern states creating a significant delegate lead over Bernie Sanders. Trump seems invincible now after winning most of the 11 state primaries. I don't know what's happening to America.…

RJ Mischo & Zach Bramhill at Biscuits and Blues Hidden in the crowded area of Mason Street San Francisco was what seemed to be a average little room covered in vinyl records and art work know as Biscuits and Blues. As soon as I walked in to the almost silent room, I was greeted by a younger gentlemen asking me if I had ever been to a Blues show before to which I replied “No”, his smiled widened when he responded with “then you are in for a treat”. I paid my $20 admission, with those prices I knew I truly was in for a “treat”, as I walked downstairs the atmosphere instantly became dimmer and the music made its debut in full force. The waiter immediately leads me to a table and as I trail behind her I notice the entire room is dim except for the stage light that illuminate the entire area. As soon as I sit down there is a transition of the lights, they turn from a bright yellow to a calm blue signaling the change between a previously upbeat song to a more relaxed one.…
