The Little Things “Mom what’s a pillow fort?” I looked at my Mom sitting on the couch next to me,”Allison you don’t know what a pillow fort is?” She looked at me smiling and said,”We’re gonna build one ok? Lemme me move the couches…” I remember at that moment being so excited, just thinking “Wow! I’m going to have my own fort!” I ran around the house helping my mom get all the blankets and pillows needed for my little sanctuary. When it was all said and done it looked a lot worse than I had pictured in my head. It was completed with chairs for support, both of our couches, and a blanket roof rapidly sinking in. It was still amazing to my little 5 year old self. I crawled in and sat down on a heap of pillows that were slowly being covered …show more content…
It was around 2 or 3 years since I built that first fort, it was around this time I met Mia. She went to my elementary school and our friendship bloomed. I was naturally quiet and so was she but we found many similarities in each other. After going to her house what seemed a million times she said to me,”Do you wanna build a pillow fort?” My eyes lit up and I said something along the lines of, “Yes, this is going to be the best pillow fort you’ve ever been in Mia.” I was just staring at her intently the whole time. That night I didn’t worry about anything that night, not about school or my at home life. It was perfect, we even watched “The Lion King” a movie I despised but in that little tent we pitched I was more than happy to watch it. That night I just remember falling asleep so happy, because of Mia and that fort we had. Our own little

Every Life Matters I really only started understanding the meaning of abortion once one of my mom’s friends had one. Before that I had very little knowledge about abortion. My parents have always taught me to stand by what I believe and that others may have different beliefs. They always told me that I would meet people that would disagree with me and what I believe not only when it came to these kind of topics but many other things as well. Being told that, they told me to always respect people’s beliefs and their points of view because everyone has the right to stand by what they believe, just like I do.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…
