It was 4:22 a.m June 6, 1944, everyone in the camp was woken up by sirens. We were 20 miles out from Normandy beach. Sargent had not told us what was going on yet, we were just told to suit up and get to the boats. I heard a quiet buzz around the compound from various soldiers of various ranks that we were going to Normandy Germany and I knew this meant war. We loaded up the boats with around 16 per boat.…
I am so glad I had the priveledge to see the movie, War Room, with my Life Group. I have to admit, since applying Miss Clara's war room, my quality of prayer has greatly improve. I not only know who and what I am praying for, but I actual have strategic pray life that makes sense; that I can follow and easily adjust as God directs me because I can see Him in my plans more clearer. My target prayers go up on my bedroom wall. And I immediately receive scriptures from the Holy Spirit to use in my prayers.…
She was one of the girliest girls I knew since grade school, with her stylish culottes and pink garments of all different shades for all different occasions. She was the epitome of a mixture between pure innocence and quirk that boldly took her rightful place in the middle of my heart. Mary Anne wasn’t just all of that; she was also my affectionate girlfriend, my warm-hearted best friend who I could talk about anything with, from the most trivial things to the very meaning of our whole existence. At the time, all I could feel was the absolute joy that I got from spending my time with her. We had our entire happiness in the future planned out, a dream wedding and all, but maybe that was the reason why I wouldn’t have ever imagined that I would be feeling so lost and empty just a few years later, alone and missing a part of myself.…
It was a rainy morning in Seattle, and I wore my Army dress uniform. Stepping off the bus, I ran 100 yards to the entrance of the Airport. After I purchased my ticket and checked my bags, I headed to the bar. It was the time of the winter equinox, and I was headed home with my discharge in my duffle bag. I suppose I should have worn my civilian clothes, but I had been stateside six months, and the comradeship I experienced in Vietnam had yet to loosen its grip on me.…
When I woke up, I still had that guilty feeling in my stomach. Oh well, how could I fix what I did anyways? While I was thinking about my problem, Cush came by and told me it was time to get my mules ready, so we could deliver supplies to the Yankees. Later on, we got ordered to form into a wagon train and we soon started our journey. After traveling for some time, we arrived at a warehouse, where we had to pick up our supplies.…
Meanwhile, poor Sarah was home worrying about me, and the weather, which appeared particularly nasty. Texas is where we learned the phrase “tornado watch.” In fact, when we left Texas to finish flight school in Fort Rucker, Alabama she said she would never live in Texas again. At the time, I was too worried about dying in a helicopter crash or failing the next phase and “washing out” to give her the attention she deserved. We were newlyweds, and she forgave me-…
I stepped on to the blacktop of the airbase in northern Ukraine, we were on the front lines of war. we shared the base with all but the army branch of most of Nato’s countries it was rather large but split into multiple divisions. I walk down to the coms office to be briefed for the mission that was on hand to us. I sat next to A person who spoke what seemed to be french… I was never good with second languages.…

I got off my horse and as I walked off to a corner, I could smell the fear in my men grow by the second. The time before the battle trembled down, but I knew that with this amount of fear we would never win. I got on top of a pillar and looked around, in the past two days my army decreased nearly by half. Every man was scared, I could see the look in their eyes as I stared at them and they stared back with great distress. I start to call the force lineup “Attionnnn…” And realized that the field that was once full of happy animals had now become a deserted land of cold a lifeless place where in just moments rivers of blood would flow and brothers would kill brothers. .…
He had never slept in a better, Rainsford decided. The next day, Rainsford awoke at sunset, relieved, that he’d finally gotten sleep since “the most dangerous game.” Recalling his dream from the previous night, Rainsford realized that he could do whatever he wanted to do with the island, and the prisoners trapped inside the chateau. He also remembered the evil grin General Zaroff had on his face.…
The Veterans are our heroes because they fight for us. I dont have the guts to go and war let alone have to possibly take someones life. My uncle went to war once. He was gone for about year. Now he is in a position where if they were to take men into war he is one of the last they would ask.…
It is a culmination of the effort I expended from the time I was a tiger cub to the moment my mother pinned it on my breast. It’s my Eagle Scout medal, and it’s my greatest achievement. My most formative experience was the year I spent as senior patrol leader, and it was crucial to my achievement of this medal. I was a mere sophomore, who was tasked with turning around a declining troop, sometimes having to make some difficult decisions.…

Whitney leaves Rainsford to get ready for bed. While Rainsford is alone, he hears 3 gunshots, which makes confusion and interest blossom in his mind.…

It was the day of the Halo world championship I was first on leader board. The winner would receive one hundred thousand dollars as their prize. Nobody was going to take that prize from me. Each match was a FFA slayer battle, 8 players, no power weapons, no vehicles, a single life, and power ups allowed.…
