Personal Narrative-The Lake

The Lake It was a miserably hot day in Grayson Lake, Kentucky.Country Music filled the air, originating from the pontoon boats cruising by.This lake was unlike any other I had seen before.It was more like a river, because of it being long and not so wide.There was a storm a couple days earlier so branches and pieces of bark were scattered throughout the water.

The roar of the engine sounded, as the Carolina Skiff ©, “T” top boat was started.
We took off and let the tube into the water and tied it up tight.Logan and I,volunteered to go first. Logan Wolgemuth was one of my friends.He and I were always at each others houses hanging out.His family brought me along on this trip.The night before we had a campfire and made s’mores.

Finally,I hit the water with a SMACK! I surfaced in shock.Logan’s college bound sister, Hannah, asked on an amused voice,
“Are you alright kid?”
Cody,her boyfriend added, “Yeah, it looked like that hurt.”
I replied in a groaning voice, “Yeah I’m all good.”
Spitting out the unappetizing lake water,I saw everyone around me laughing so I joined in.Logan was telling me how his other sister, Lexi who was 15,was going to jump off a close to 50 foot cliff.
I swam over to watch as fast as I could.Logan’s dad, or Erryl, as we call him, pointed out Lexi and her friend.When she jumped,she screamed like a little child.
Now that I think of it,i don’t blame her, that was pretty high up.
I’ll always remember that day, it was filled with fear,laughter, and most of all, good
