Personal Narrative: The Kindergartner

Improved Essays
The Kindergartner who was outside to play unsupervised got into a fight. I was meant to watch how he was doing, do a lap and ask how he was playing, while outside he was running around and said, “They are telling secretes about me and they are not telling”. After that he ran away to the playground with the swings, and slide. I walked behind him trying to understand what was going on, as he ran as soon as he told me that statement. While walking up the steps in the slide one of the supposed kids who was telling secretes was in front of him. The kinder gardener grabbed his leg and started to pull him down. I told to stop as I was witnessing the conflict, walking faster to reach him. Once I was close he started crying. Apparently, the other kid grabbed his finger and pulled it back. I walked him to one of the aids watching the kids and took him to the nurse’s office. He was fine, probably exaggerating how hurt he felt. …show more content…
I have played this game quite frequently with some kids, so I have gotten pretty good at it. The fifth grader also had experience playing real pool. We played in the friendship room for his reward for good behavior. After we started talking he started mentioning his adult sibling and how he was adopted. While I knew he was adopted, I did not know he knew. The teacher mentioned before meeting him a while back how his mother had passed away, and that he was adopted, but I did not know he knew his situation. He mentioned hos he had quite a few brothers and sisters, all older with the second youngest being in his early twenties. While he did not talk about his mother he did mention him being adopted which surprised me. His adopted father is older in age, but they seem to get along great as he mentions often playing

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

I was ten years ago and I can still vividly remember sitting on an old, wooden rocking chair while the words of The Very Hungry Caterpillar trembled off my lips to a room full of second graders. I can recall the eagerness and excitement that filled their little faces as I flipped from page to page. There was an abundance of curiosity and desire to learn in that classroom that made me happy that I decided on skipping recess to read to the younger students. There was a fire that lit in my ten-year-old body that day. That was the day where I finally had an answer to all the “What do you want to be when you grow up?”…

That Day in Fourth Grade “People come into our lives for a reason, bringing something you must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them and we help them in return. -Glinda” One of my best friends today, Teonna Frye, has influenced a lot of the choices that have made me into who I am today. I first met her as a “not-so-little,” brown-haired fourth grader. She was a giant that towered over all the kids in our grade.…

The Rebirth of a Sixth Grader It wasn’t a real hospital, so I didn’t expect it to smell so much like disinfectant, and for it to linger on my skin and in my hair for multiple days after I returned home. Everything was such a bleached white. It looked spotless in there, and I was scared if I were to touch anything that it would be tainted forever. A lovely middle-aged woman met me around the first corner I took when I walked through the intimidating sliding glass doors. My parents right behind me, making sure I knew where to go, I felt trapped.…

Education and Me Education, a thing we fought to have is now discouraging students to learn. All this starts once we start school. At first it is great you’re doing good, meeting new people and then you get homework handed to you to which you think to yourself what is this? What am I supposed to do with this? From the day, I first started school, I have always had trouble learning.…

Between the ages of five and eight I resided in a predominately white, suburban, affluent community in upstate New York. My early literacy skills and development were impacted in a multitude of ways due to my immersion in a traditional family, with a stay at home mother and working father who parented authoritatively. As the provider of the family with a superiority complex, my father did not always provide kind ways of speaking, and valued a close knit family, using the close proximity of the Adirondacks to strengthen literacy development and cognitive strategies through questioning, researching, and gaining first-hand experience from outdoor activities. From my early childhood experience, the socioeconomic, sociocultural, and environmental…

The title sounds like I have no friends and I am an underdog right? Let me explain, so sit back and listen to how I became involved in my church. As the rain bruised the aged roof of our snug home, my mom called, “Kendra, can you come down here real quick?” “Yep! Coming,” I replied as I leaped down the stairs.…

A Classroom Story During my certification year I had several classroom observations that were conducted by members of my support team. My support team consisted of the principal, 6th grade specialist, and the FDRESA member. Not all members were required to sit in at every observation. One particular observation made me extremely proud of my students. It was just an ordinary observation and the students knew that someone would be dropping in just to observe the class and the focus of the observation would be on me, as a teacher.…

When I was younger my writing consisted of many errors just like any normal elementary schooler. I remember in first grade we had a stuffed animal bear everyone got to take home one weekend and write about all the things we did with this bear. As I look back on my writing from back then I laugh because of all the misspelled words and sentences that just did not make sense at all! As I went through school teachers always had us to different writing assignments and with everyone I watched my writing get stronger and more sophisticated.…

I’ve had a mixed bag of experiences with schooling. I have always been an old soul trapped in a child's body. If a person wanted me to pick a time-period to define who I am, I would have picked my time in middle school when I was bullied for physical appearance and my speech impediment among other things. I was naive back then and didn’t know anything bad was going on around me. I was worried about other people, but at that time I should have been worried about myself.…

It was there. Its presence marked my final destination. My fear suddenly started to creep over me just thinking about it like a ghost that every child was afraid of, when they turned off the lights. I began to ask my friends if it was true, and they said “Yes” and that it was due tomorrow! All of a sudden a chill ran down through me and my hands started to sweat of nervousness as I started to write down the homework.…
