The Keirsey Report asked good questions to really help me think about what kind of person I really am. I concentrated on the wording of the questions, as you went further along I felt I could see the flow of the questions. Then I realized the questions were not asking me the same thing just worded differently, each question was truly different. Each question really made me question the scenario, and try to place myself in such a scenario. I would ask my 16-year-old son, and my husband what they thought and several times we had same answers. If they thought opposite of a question, I would ask them why, and give me a scenario. Once in a while I would not agree and answer how I felt. I am not quick to go outside the box, or even accept it when presented. I often look at new changes to policies or new technologies with a critical eye, which isn’t a bad thing, however it limits my …show more content…
This is my opportunity to let go of who I have to be 90% of the time. Being different, talking to a stranger, trying a new cuisine, or doing something out of the ordinary is very relaxing to me. I find myself caught up in Monday-Friday routines and thinking constantly about what responsibility lies ahead can get frustrating. So, I try not to be so “uptight” when I am out. My daily routine is fine the way it is, I am happy with my role within my family, and community, but when I get a chance to let it go, I welcome it. As a human being, it is hard to come out of an established comfort zone and live in a different perspective. Especially if that perspective is one a differing opinions, to put it lightly. Long ago, I had moved to a new school and none of the popular kids accepted me because I have always been myself, which I suppose is different than most individuals. But I was happy being the person I was meant to be. I always thought, this is the person the universe wanted me to be, and I have never changed for anyone since then, and today have many wonderful friends who appreciate me. This is prime to realize because had I conformed to what the popular kids wanted me to be, I would have never been the unique individual with the wonderful friends I have today. I have a burning passion for skating, and the skating culture is very distinct on the way they dress and behave, but I had always stuck to what made me feel comfortable, and I personally feel a connection to the world being who I naturally am.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…
