It was Sunday, October 10th and it was a beautiful afternoon to go hunting. The sun was shining and colorful leaves were falling to the ground as the trees swayed back and forth. There was one doe though that was older and had no fawns with her. After a while my dad whispered “I am going to hand over the gun. I want you to take a shoot at the old doe that is staring at us. Grab the gun slowly and do not make a noise.” I got the gun and looked at the deer …show more content…
Why are her legs moving like that?” I asked worried. “I do not know. Just wait a minute and then we will go out there” my dad whispered. Soon after, my dad and I got out of the hunting stand and walked out to where she was lying still now. “Congratulations.” my dad confirmed happily. Dark red blood was running out from where I had shot her. The bullet went through high and broke her spine. She had a long face and a big body. “Wow, I can not believe that, that just happened. Just a few minutes ago we were watching her eat out in the field.” I cried. My dad and I then walked back to the truck and drove it out into the hay field. We turned right into our gravel driveway and as soon as the truck stopped my siblings came running out of the house. “I heard a loud gunshot, so I predict that you got a deer.” remarked my sister. “I got deer.” I yelled with the biggest smile on my face. “Really! Where is it? Is it a buck or a doe? ” asked my

So I went outside to help my grandparents shovel the sidewalk and porch, right in front of us is small pasture for our neighbors, Harmstons, horses to roam. My grandfather started to laugh and told me to look over there and we see a buck and a doe mating inside the pasture while the horses minded their own business. I laughed but I thought it was awkward that the horses didn’t do anything like they usually do. Later that night I was up doing one of your last labs and I heard the coyotes outside.…

In mid October early in the morning the day was crisp and chill. The sun was just burning the morning fog off of the lakes cool waters. The dew on the grass and trees was glistening from the sunlight and the bird were singing their songs of jubilee . The entire woods were peaceful and still, and the sunrise was magnificent. During this moment I realized how beautiful nature is when the outside world is a distant memory, and all we need to do is take advantage of the little things life gives us and never stress the big ones too much.…

It was a brisk fall morning in November. I had woken up extra early just to make sure I could make it out to my stand before the sun would peek above the horizon. I’m not much of a morning person, so waking up can be a difficult challenge for me. Since it was just my first year of deer hunting, my dad had agreed to sit out in the stand with me just incase any trouble came about. I quickly brushed my teeth, got dressed in blaze orange from head to toe, grabbed some snacks, and began the journey out to the stand where I would be sitting for a while.…

I know this because this is what I would assume today. Again, my childish hope panned out because less than five minutes later the same three deer were back. My dad, who was extremely shocked, told me to calm down and take a long breath, shooting during the exhale when I took the shot. The deer got within twenty yards again. I, being a little more patient this time, slowly aimed at the doe.…
