Personal Narrative: The Idea Of Not Graduating High School

Growing up, the idea of not graduating high school was never an option for me. For as far back as I can remember my mom saying, “You will graduate or die.” Of course she didn’t mean the last part, but because neither one of my parents finished school, it was important to them I did graduate. On June 13, 1982, wearing a sky blue graduation cap and gown I walked across the stage and received my diploma. It was a proud moment for my parents and myself. My parents and I never had a discussion about me going on to college, and honestly I never wanted to go. As a member of the baby boomer generation we were able to join the work force, even without having a college degree, we were able to earn a good living. But over time, things have changed,
