Personal Narrative: The Hour Of Jewel

Improved Essays
The hour of Jewel would be from 9:30 to 10:30. It wouldn’t be everyday though because I am very busy on some days. This would be my special time because I can play basketball, watch movies, and eat lots of food. I would most likely play basketball first since I don’t want to exercise on a full stomach. When I watch movies, they won’t be specific movies, since I do like all types of movies. When I’m watching a movie that’s the perfect time to eat all the foods I like, especially since I can’t do that often because of basketball practices.

Playing basketball during my hour is a great choice for me because I love basketball. Without it I don’t know what I would do. When I play basketball it releases all the anger that I have when I’m mad. For example when my brothers or sisters make me mad and won’t leave me alone or when I’m stressed out from a hard class in school. There would just be peace and quietness. Playing basketball makes me happier because it’s something I love doing.

It would would make my mood better. If I had a bad day I could go watch a funny movie to cheer me up. Watching movies is great for when I need something to do and I’m bored. It can also be an educational thing too. There are many educational movies or biographies on different people and things. So in a way I could watch these movies either for fun or education. Happily since it’s the hour of Jewel I don’t have to choose a movie that my friends or family

How does one become “immortal”? To answer that you’d have to pick a definition of immortal. For me that definition is to be remembered for many years to come, most likely not by millions of people, but by a few. In reading the Epic of Gilgamesh something dawned on me, what would I want to be remembered for if I died today? Seeing as I’ve never truly considered it, it took me a good while to determine the things I would want to be written into the history books for.…

The Crevasse “Adversity is the source of our deepest growth and greatest blessings; embrace it, dare to seek It,” that was a quote from Aron Ralston, who fell down a crevasse and his arm was wedged under a rock, which inspired the movie “127 Hours.” One day I was going to the creek with my friends, Matthew and Kendal, to hang out. We had this amazing spot that had a bridge that we made and everything. We were bringing further supplies to add on to the spot and make it look more visually appealing. When we arrived at the park we brought all of the supplies down under a bridge.…

My six word memoir was “Fought through the labyrinth of solitude” because I wasn’t really alone physically because I had my family but none of them understood me or I couldn’t show them I true self, like who I really am. It wasn’t really easy to do because I felt insecure even though I shouldn’t feel that way. I stayed true to myself and I kept that in mind and it gave me the strength to push through. So mentally I was me but outside I was a totally different person that everybody expected me to be but even though I had some faith that that would end someday.…

You might not think basketball could help me academically; but it has. Leading up to this basketball game, academically, I was quite different than who I am today. Prior to this game, I did little talking to people that intimidated me, such as teachers, mostly I was just shy. However, after speaking with so many people that I did not know following the game, it has all changed. From that point on, I was brave and unafraid to communicate with teachers.…

The long days and nights riding to Bree started molding into each other so I didn’t have the best idea about how long it has been. I looked up at the stormy night sky dark with clouds filled with rain and thunder that blocked out the light from the stars and the moon. Lightning could be seen in the distance zapping at the ground. I made my horse go faster so we could get to Bree sooner.…

Things had changed in the beast’s castle. Though the world outside was always shrouded in snow and night, the halls of the keep were always full of candlelight. Rosa and the beast rapidly became great friends with each other in the days following the shift into winter. Every day from bell to bell, they seldom left each other’s sides. “…And that’s more or less a complete history of the United States,” Rosa said, finishing her lecture on American history as they both stepped back into the entrance foyer, lit up by a restored crystal chandelier.…

The stage of a hero's journey I associate with to the most is stage five. I associate with this because I meet new people every day and some turn out to be a whole lot friendlier than others. As a result of this, I have made numerous allies and enemies throughout the years. One example is that in second grade I was transferred to another class along with two other girls. Those two girls ended up being my best friends for six years.…
