Upon arriving, my siblings and I were exhausted from the long trip. We had driven through a never-ending desert whose landscape had as much variation as the houses in a middle-class neighborhood. As our rental SUV pulled into the parking lot, I wondered with impatience if the trip would be worth what we were about to see. I stepped out of the car and breathed in the cold, windy desert air. I joined the crowd and got my first look at the Canyon. Needless to say, it was well worth the wait. I usually wasn’t one to fall in love with nature, but this infinite labyrinth was extraordinary. It was so large and deep that I developed a headache while trying to make sense of what I was seeing. The rest of my family was awestruck as well.
