Improved Essays
Can you imagine what it would feel like to know that you could get shot at any time? Or get blown up at any time. That's what some people go through every day. Although America has provided my generation with many gifts, my paper will focus on three of them: freedom of speech, freedom to vote, and the right to get a free education.

America has provided me with freedom of speech. It is huge to be able to say whatever we want wherever we want to, and not be imprisoned for it. This is a great gift to have. American soldiers have fought for me to have freedom of speech. It is huge to be able to say whatever we want to and not be imprisoned for it. I know America has provided me with freedom of speech because I know that I can say whatever I want

Unlike many teenagers I didn’t, have a transition period from childhood to teenage years to adulthood, like so many others here in America might have. My life went from a carefree child to being a mature and responsible adult within a matter of months, and here is how it all started. The fact or the matter is that I was born in a refugee camp in Nepal and life wasn’t easy with death and disease looming everywhere. I roamed the streets as carefree as young kid could. Life was normal as I went to school every day, my dad worked countless hours, and my mother stayed home like so many other women in the community.…

We vote and are not influenced by one specific person, we vote and choose our representatives for the president, governor, mayor, and so on. A windy Tuesday early morning in 2009, Los Angeles still slept from the celebration-filled Fourth of July weekend. But my family was abruptly woken. I was in the seventh grade. I lived with my parents and two sisters in our humble home in the Pico neighborhood of Los Angeles, a pride-filling reward for the years of hard-work and dedication of my parents, both exiles from the tumultuous Central American country of Honduras. They came chasing the American Dream and yearning to be free from poverty.…

One of the many, many things we Americans love to boast about is our freedom. It’s freedom this, freedom that; Americans will never shut up about “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” and if told to we’ll screech about our freedom of speech. We sing praises to our many freedoms all day long, some glaringly obvious, and some more subtle. For instance, the first ten amendments to our constitution were collectively called the “Bill of Rights,” and gave us a variety of fun, new freedoms to exercise, and that constitution has been added to over and over again throughout the years. Likewise, we have the “Statue of Liberty” meant to welcome all newcomers to our country.…
