This would be one of our extensive game of the season, and we were determined to win. Although the varsity boys game was in the “big gym” and no one really came to watch us my team was pretty excited for this game.

The game started off with a roaring screech from the whistle. Already I could tell that this game would require a lot of determination.Throughout the whole game the score was back to back. Snowflake would be up a couple of points then Alchesay. Being the very aggressive player I was I jumped up to get the rebound. As soon as I felt the ball touch my hands I turned around to take the ball back to our basket. Then something

This would mean my parents wouldn't have to buy the overly priced fifteen minute ride to the hospital in the ambulance. My brother helped me up in our truck and we were off to the doctors office. The doctor got all my stitches in which I couldn't feel because my head was pounding like someone was just pounding away at it. It took a lot of convincing but I finally convinced my mom to let me go back to the game and cheer my team on. I walk into the gym with blood all over my jersey, a bandage wrapped clear around my head a couple times and already a big black eye. It felt like literally everyone's eyes were on me as I walked over to my team. I sat by my coach ready to cheer my team on and give them my all even if I couldnt play. The game was now “paybacks” my team was determined to win now, and the score was finally going up in our favor with only a couple of seconds left in the game. 5….4….3….2….1…. People coming from a different planet would think every day things we do in life are weird. What we have adapted to and think are normal look very weird to others who haven’t seen people doing things like this. Or someone who has never seen a drive threw would think it’s weird to have people have food handed out the window. Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

Heartbreak and hours of crying–that was the aftermath of finding out I didn’t make the travel basketball team in the fifth grade. I started playing recreational basketball for Montville in the third grade; since then, I had dominated the competition as I hit my growth spurt earlier than most of my friends. Not only was I taller than most of the kids I played with, but I was also faster and stronger. Coming into the tryout, I was confident in my abilities and believed that I would make the team. Upon finding out the results of the tryouts, I was devastated and felt cheated because I thought I was better than some of the kids that made the team.…

The next day, we had another soccer game in the morning and I wanted to play, but, a parent on our team is a nurse and she told my mom that I needed to sit out and go to the doctor Monday because she thought I had a concussion. Monday came, and I went to the doctor and they told me I had a terrible concussion and should go to the hospital to see if my skull was cracked. At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…
