The people of Iraq are not computer literate, so a virtual reality interface may be necessary to make the systems accessible to everyday Iraqis. Thus, virtual reality computerizing governmental offices have be considered an urgent issue and the government must work on it seriously. To accomplish the process of developing IT infrastructure and computerized governmental offices, Iraq needs to overcome its technological shortcomings by adding more educated experts to the ranks of its government. However, many private universities have been opened during the last years in Iraq, and most of these universities have a computer science department, but still they cannot fill the …show more content…
My master’s research focuses on finding a realistic method to simulate and improve slope in the virtual reality world, and finding accurate methods that combine the physical body’s ability and effort for climbing hills and stairs to reflect real world situations. My thesis approach is to use a small foot-mounted sensor that transmits position, velocity and acceleration of the feet. With these measurements, “motion kinematic work” done by the user is calculated. The relationship between “work needed” to ascend or descend any slopes and instantaneous measures of “work done” by the user controls how quickly the user is able to navigate virtual slopes. By manipulating this relationship we can force the user to walk in a particular way. For steep inclines, the user has to walk faster and/or lift up their feet higher. This makes the user get tired when s/he encounters sloped terrain in the virtual world. This results in user behaviors that more closely match those of the real
