They pulled me aside into a room. It was just me, the head coach, Mike, and the freshman coach. “Hi, Shelbi right?” said Mike “Yes, how are you?” I responded “Good, let me just say it, I’m sorry but I don’t have a spot for you on my team” Mike told me “Oh, okay” I said sadly “I promise you were the next on the list if anyone says no to their spot” He said trying to make me feel better “Okay, I understand,” I said quietly “Thank you, now can you please send in Claire,” He asked.
I went and told Claire that it was her turn to go and talk to the coach, she was one of my best friends on the team last year. She asked how I did and I told her I didn’t make the soccer team, I was trying to be strong and hold it together. I went over to

I didn’t have Human Service Exploration anymore, which was sad but I knew I wanted to take it again. I emailed my teacher Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Osborne, to see if I could take it again as a leadership two student. Mrs. Evans emailed me back in all capital letters “YES OF COURSE” I was really excited that I might be able to take the class again. So the next day I went to her room and I was a bit nervous but she was the kind of person that was like your sister and I was really comfortable talking to her about anything, so I walked in there and she said “hey Shelbi”
So I responded with “ Hey how are you?” “Good, so you’re here to talk to me about taking Leadership two next year?” she asked “Yep, I am” “Good okay, well write down your email and your current counselor, and I’ll email them and let them know” “Oh sweet! Okay that’s all?”
“Yep I’ll email both of you and you’ll be in the class next year.”
“Awesome thanks!!” I exclaimed
Now it was my senior year and I’m still loving the class, I was really worried that I could only get HSE for first semester so I emailed my new counselor about it and she said to come in and talk to her, so I did and now I have HSE all year! I love teaching lessons to the kids as a leadership 2 student and just being apart of making these students having a great

The following week the spring rain was harsh and unrelenting, and accompanied still by the cold tendrils of winter, refusing to blow away. April was slow approaching, March still unrelenting and cruel, though rising from the freezing thirties into the chilly but kinder forties; it was still hardly pleasant weather, and with the unpredictability of March in New York City, was just as likely to plunge down the next day. Customer’s moods were equally volatile with the weather; some days people flooded in with platitudes of warmth and others with eyes rung so into their skulls they looked more like empty sockets, with orders curt or to the point and tips measly. Will had come to learn that volatility in times of bad weather was best for business…

Despite his sudden awe at her presence, Sophie's reluctant demeanor wasn't lost on Kevin. It was discouraging, but he gave a deep breath (one he realized, too late, was probably audible) and waited as she came closer, trying not to stare too blatantly at her shapely legs as they made her skirt swish like a curtain hiding restless performers backstage. He unbuttoned the top button of his plaid flannel shirt and another breath escaped. As she explained her timid goal for the sessions, it did nothing for Kevin's discouragement, and there was even a bit of resentment in there, too. She was clearly just trying to coast by, and had no intention of paying him the attention he was giving her.…

I groan in disgust and let myself fall out of bed onto the floor, my muscles not bothering to cooperate. But I digress and continue getting ready for the day.…
