My Five Careers The five careers I’m interested in going to are to become an anesthesiologist, pediatrician, physician, registered nurse, and pharmacist. Pursuing jobs all in the medical field are my passion and what I see myself doing in the next ten to fifteen years. The first job I am interested in pursing is anesthesiology. They monitor blood pressure, heart rhythm, temperature, level of consciousness, and the amount of oxygen in the blood. They are also the physicians that give the patient the medicine or anesthesia. Although it takes 12 years to pursue in this field of medicine, anesthesiologists get paid at least $100,000 within their first year with the benefits of dental and life insurance, paid vacation, and short and long term disability. …show more content…
As a pediatrician, they manage physical, behavioral, and mental health of children from birth until 21 years of age. They are trained in treating childhood illnesses from minor health problems to serious diseases. Unlike the anesthesiologist, the pediatrician only has to go to school for four years and then take three years of training. The benefits of this career include health and life insurance, maternity/paternity leave, sick leave, and vacation. Thirdly, being a physician is in mind. Physicians give medicine to the patients, and counsel people on diet, hygiene, and preventative healthcare. They may even treat illnesses and injuries, examine patients, and take medical histories. The schooling required for this job is not as hectic as the two previous careers. Next, registered nursing is also a good field of medicine. Although they don’t make as much money as a physician, they work with them and other healthcare professionals. This job allows you to interact with the patients and care for all of their personal needs. The best benefit of this job is that they have flexible schedules as well as high package
