The First time I Got Stitches
It was a hot summer day and my sisters and I were in our backyard putting our basketball rim together. As time went by it started to get cloudy, so we tried to hurry before it started to rain. Just as we were about to finish up it started to rain so we went inside. It rained the whole night so therefore we waited until morning to finish. The next morning, I seen my mom and sister struggling to stand up the rim so I went outside to help. After we finished setting it up I sat down and watched them play for a while.
“Can I play” I said to my sister.
“Yeah sure” she spoke.
I took my mom’s place in the game while she took a break. As we began the game I tripped playing in my sandals. “Go change your shoes before you hurt yourself” my mom insisted.

While we were playing, the ball rolled off to the curb so I ran to hurry and get the ball. Just as I was picking up the ball my foot slide right through my shoe and I scrapped my toe against the curb. I thought it was just a little cut so I decided I wasn’t going to mention it since my mom already had told me not to play in my sandals. However, that didn’t go as planned since my sister seen that my foot was dripping blood.
“Your toe is bleeding?” she asked.
“I know; I was going to get a band aid” I spoke.
“I’ll get it; you’re going to get blood everywhere just sit down” she remarked.
As I waited for her to come back I heard my mom coming back outside.
“Why is your toe bleeding? It better not be because you were still playing after I told you to go change your shoes?” she demanded.
“Yeah but it’s nothing I am going to put alcohol and a band aid on it” I trembled.
“Let me see” she ordered.
I put my foot up so she could see, and she shook her head. “That’s a really a deep cut and you’re bleeding a lot you might need stitches. Put that Band-Aid on and get in the car “she
