Personal Narrative: The First Day Of Skiing

Improved Essays
When I was nine years old my parents finally told me that I could go skiing with them on their annual skiing trip that they do every February. Although they commonly go in February, they decided to also take me and my brother in December and said that we would still go in February. When the day arrived, we loaded our car up and left our house and started to head to Breckenridge, Colorado.

After that my dad asked me if I wanted to try the slopes that had moguls on them and I said yeah. When I got off the lift I looked at the slope and realized that it was a black level slope with moguls. All of a sudden I felt a ton of adrenaline rush through my body from my head to my toes and then took off. I started to pick up momentum when all of a sudden a random guy swerved right by me and made me swerve and hit one of the moguls and crashed hard and rolled for what felt like a mile. When I stopped I started to writhe because my head and body hurt so badly. When I got back up my dad was right next to me and asked if I was okay and told him that my head hurt and that my whole body felt ragged. My dad looked at me and said that I looked pallid and that my eyes were dilated and that I most likely had a concussion which made me feel apprehensive. We ended the second day early because of my head. I was reposeful on the way back to my house and hated that I had to endure all of the pain from my crash. When we got home my dad took me to the doctors and sure enough, I had a concussion, my second one. The first time that I went skiing was the best time going because I had lots of fun and because of all the things I learned how to do and all of the great experiences I had in Breckenridge. Now every time that I go skiing, I go on the slope that I got my concussion on and master it every time I go down it and remember what happened the first time that I went
